Teresa has a PhD in Law from the University of Barcelona (1995) and is a professor at ESADE (2003, Ramon Llull University), where she carries out her main teaching and research work in the fields of inheritance law, family law, efficient conflict management, mediation and negotiation. She has outstanding academic experience in both Spanish universities (associated professor at the University of Barcelona since 1994, and consultant at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (UOC) since 1998) and international institutions (guest lecturer at Università degli Studi Roma Tre (Italy), Universidade de Coimbra (Portugal) and Università Bocconi (Milan, Italy); and visiting foreign scholar at Fordham University (New York, US), among others).

She has authored over a hundred publications, including books, chapters of collective works, monographs and articles in specialist legal journals. Furthermore, she is actively involved in both academia (director of the Law Degree Programme, head of department and associate dean of the Law School) and in the public sector, where she has been a member of the FC Barcelona Statutes Reform Committee (2010–2013), substitute magistrate of the Lleida Court of Appeal (2018–2021) and member of the Board of the Catalan Civil Law Codification Committee of the Catalan Government’s Department of Justice (2018–2025). She has led the Conflict Management research group at Esade for over a decade, carrying out multidisciplinary projects that examine current issues and risks in the fields of inheritance and family law and designing efficient conflict management models for organisations. Her work in recent years has focused on areas of growing demand from companies and matters of family and personal wealth, such as family property law, compliance in family and inheritance matters, inheritance and family property planning, property management and risks, and the system for disabilities and support, and its civil law implications.
